How Does Helpline Work?

  1. In an emergency, press the Personal Help Button and Helpline automatically dials the Emergency Dispatch Centre.
  2. A trained Dispatcher answers and talks with you over the Helpline built-in speakerphone.
  3. The trained Dispatcher calls the appropriate emergency services and phones family members, friends or neighbours.

Description

Helpline offers 24-hour emergency assistance through Northern Communication Services Emergency Response Center. Whether at medical or social risk, it allows people to maintain their independence while feeling secure in their own home.

Designed for its ease of use, our emergency response service connects you or your loved ones to our Emergency Dispatch Centre in seconds.

A private phone line, electricity and at least one telephone jack is required.

Availability of Service

Helpline is available to ALL residents of Northeastern Ontario and satellites with trained installers have been established in many communities to improve access to service. For other communities, the pre-programmed ready to connect equipment can be shipped to you with easy step-by-step connection instructions.

We DO NOT have waiting lists. Service is installed in the home within 5 business days of receiving the referral.
